Who we are

Theme Parks (Parques Temáticos) is an Asesores Travel app, developed and published by TicoWorks (Costa Rica). For any privacy question, write to info@ticoworks.com.

What data we use and why

• Visits. We count visits on our server to know how many people use the app. We do not store the IP address: each visitor becomes a code computed with a random key that changes and is deleted every day, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next. The country is derived on our own server, without external services. Records are deleted after 400 days. We use no cookies and no third-party analytics.
• Clicks on Asesores Travel links. We count how many times each button is tapped (for example, "Get a quote for tickets"), with no data about who tapped it.
• What your phone stores. Your preferences, trip dates, routes, language and Pro pass are stored on the phone itself and are not sent to anyone, except as explained below. Clearing the app data or uninstalling it removes them.
• Location. The app uses your phone's location while you use it, to show you on the map and for the walking guide. This happens on the phone. We do not use location in the background.
• Groups. If you create or join a group, we store the group name, the name and emoji you choose and the group route. If you turn on "Share my location", your latest position is kept only in the server's memory (never on disk, no history), only group members can see it, and it deletes itself after 30 minutes without updates. You can turn it off or leave the group anytime. Unused groups are deleted after 30 days.
• Shared routes. When you share a route we store a copy of it (park, date and rides, no personal data) so the link works.
• Pro pass. If you redeem a code we store the code, the redemption date and a random phone identifier, so redeeming it again does not use up another slot. If you buy the pass in the app, Apple or Google process the payment; we never see your payment details. To confirm the purchase we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier created by the app and the purchase receipt. If you start the free trial on Android, we store an encrypted fingerprint of the phone identifier, only so the trial is used once per phone.
• WhatsApp. Asesores Travel buttons open WhatsApp with a pre-written message. What you send stays between you and Asesores Travel and is governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy.

Third-party services

To work, the app loads resources from other services, which receive your IP address as with any web page visit: OpenStreetMap map tiles, Google Fonts typefaces and the Leaflet map library from cdnjs (Cloudflare). Wait times come from Queue-Times.com, but our server makes that request, not your phone.

What we do not do

• We do not ask you to sign up or for your email or phone number.
• We do not show ads or track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not sell or rent data.

Your rights

Since there are no accounts, almost everything can be deleted from the app itself: leaving a group removes your name and location from it, and uninstalling the app removes what is stored on the phone. If you want us to delete anything else, such as a group or a shared route, write to info@ticoworks.com with the link and we will remove it.

If you are in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR): we process data to provide the service you ask for (groups, shared routes, purchases) and, for anonymous statistics and server security, on the basis of legitimate interest. You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its use and to receive it in a portable format; write to info@ticoworks.com and we will answer within 30 days at most. You can also complain to the data protection authority of your country. Our server and some providers (RevenueCat, Apple, Google) are outside the European Union; those transfers use the safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.

Children

The app is for the general public planning a theme park trip. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not ask them for data.

Pro pass terms

• The Pro pass unlocks the personal route and the walking guide. Wait times, the calendar and news are free.
• There is an Individual pass (30 days) and a Family pass (30 days, 1 year or lifetime). Only the Family pass can create a group; people who join a group use its features for free.
• Each pass runs from the moment it is bought or activated. It is a one-time payment: it is not a subscription and does not renew.
• The "lifetime" pass is valid for as long as the app is available in the stores.
• The free trial lasts 7 days, can be used once per phone (on iPhone, once per Apple account) and does not turn into a purchase when it ends.
• Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
• If you are in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom: the pass is digital content that is activated as soon as you buy it. By buying it you agree to that immediate activation and, by law, you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal; you can still ask Apple or Google for a refund.
• Gift codes (for Asesores Travel clients) can only be redeemed on the website parques.asesores.travel; they are personal, work on the stated number of phones and may be cancelled if published or resold.

About the information in the app

Wait times come from Queue-Times.com and from what the parks publish; routes and estimates are a guide and parks may change hours or close rides without notice. Theme Parks is not affiliated with Universal, Disney, SeaWorld, Merlin or any park; their names and trademarks belong to their owners.
